Usefulness of the tiny canon

with 4 comments

The new tiny blue canon ~ PowerShot SD1100IS ~ its sleek,
slim & handy a typically wide screen that I particularly
like most! Sexy blue in color ... It goes right into my
handbag without any bulk. Of course, this is not best
camera that a 'frenzy'(hehe) photographer would need
but its good enough for the time being! Not bad at its
price too!!

Now that we do have a collection of Canon Cams + one
Sony digital, Bernard is likely to buy another Canon
or Nikon and like to get the more complicated (???) one,
I think! I would say that I do need one personally ...
like a digital SLR. I just love taking photographs.

Would love to go to the (1) Botanical Garden
(2) Julia Davis Park & (3) Kathryn Albertsons Park
on Sunday ...to take pictures of the beautiful flowers
for sure!

Never been to the Botanical Garden yet!

Passed by almost on a daily basis ... nice
central park. They organised Train Ride
and water paddle for leisure.

Kathryn Albertsons Park is also a birdwatcher's haven ....
if you're lucky you'll be able to see
antelopes as well!

a workout finally?

with one comment

Its amazing … I’ve got time to post! I’m quite free! Some days I wish I could blog more and be able to share more often than I could. Today, I have accomplished what I really wanted to do. At noon, I was still thinking about shoes .. wanting to buy one … So I did go to Dillards and got myself a pair, was on sale! I was tempted to buy a couple of outfit as well … damn … spent quite a lot today!

I went to the Gym ~ which is just at the corner, just across the parking lot. Its a small gym with some simple equipment but a nice place for a workout! Sad to say … but this is the very first time that I have actually done a full hour of exercise!!! Running on the treadmill was just enough for me, pausing along the way … have long wanted to own a treadmill at home but not so sure yet …. if I do not have the ‘exercise mindset’, nothing happens! Next to the Gym is the swimming pool …. kids and grown up kids alike are happily splashing out there! That’s so much fun!

My neighbour must have thought that I am crazy …. he was playing his musical flute outside the corridor and smiling .. being a camera frenzy, I took picture of the pool area. Was not able to snap the gym as there are other residence there at that time and they’ll think I’m crazy taking a pic out of the place!!! Hopefully the people have not seen me taking this picture (below) !! ….

Friday food for thought

without comments

Had so much of Chinese groceries this morning! Fresh vegetables and pre-cooked delicacies come around every Friday at the local Asian market here in Boise. The little market was packed with hardly space to walk around the aisles, even a parking space in the area! More or less like the wet market in KK ….. I seldom go on Friday so I barely see lots of people around the mart, most of the time its quiet when we were there on other days. There aren’t much choice though … but so far the best. Lesley has particularly wanted to get some ’sticky rice noodles roll’ … delicious too!

yeaaah, a long weekend for me

without comments

Just a quick note for the day * I did promise to be an everyday blogger, didn’t I? *…. was a hectic day today. Went back a little bit late, dropped by at the store to buy sushi for Lesley on the way home. I will be having a long weekend and looking forward to it ~ having Thursday, Friday & Saturday off and hopefully Sunday if I could! Need to catch up with all my housework etc etc. I’ll then continue to blog again … What a coincidence, its also a long weekend in Sabah ~ Kotobian Tadau Kaamatan!

Primary Tuesday

without comments

SHARING FOR FUN here and cheering up our early Tuesday morning (pic taken in the morning) ….. I was about to go work this morning and Lesley just got back from her 10-hour night shift!!!! She looks tired and sleepy but still able to smile for candid …. We were also trying out a new small handy canon camera which Lesley has bought recently and also wanted to do something cartoonnnnnny but not for real!!!!!

Tuesday is soon fading away …. it has been a warm beautiful day! A busy day at work today …. Idaho Republican Primary is held at the hotel tonight so its a busy event that’s going on. Left exactly at 5pm, was tired and needed to get home to have a quick nap! Was sort of hungry too but gone away with it! Need to trim down my tummy …. hehe!

Another Sunday is over

without comments

It was not a fun day at work … it was a slow and a boring day! But by doing bits, the day passed by anyway!!! I went home about an hour early before my mid-shift ended. My colleague, Zefhr, can handle stuff by herself and did not really need another person. Working with Greg in the morning was more fun …. probably he can talk more on realistic topics! Afterall he is a soon-to-be politician!!!

Sharing a local news today ….

The Idaho billionaire passed away in his downtown Boise home Sunday morning – with the call coming into police dispatch just before 11 a.m. He was 99. Simplot died of natural causes, according to Ada County Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg. His family is expected to make a statement at a later date. Simplot and his family were ranked at No. 80 on Forbes magazine’s 2006 list of richest Americans, with an estimated wealth of $3.2 billion. The potato billionaire’s life started humbly — but his death comes with his name on the list of the world’s richest men. John Richard Simplot’s legacy is closely tied in with the image of the potato state over the past nearly hundred years.

Saturday again ….

without comments

Woke up a bit late today as its my other day off for the week! Can’t sleep much as the sun is shining brightly coupled with the birdy sound ~ in another word, its nice and beautiful out there! Am not doing much today … I’ll be working tomorrow morning again and will have a three-day off for the week. I’ll be having a long weekend next week which is good after working long hours with varied shifts for a while! Just to share … Work is all the same anywhere in the world; there is bound to be grapevine among others! People are just not created equal!!!!

Am going out with Lesley today …. her Dad worked all night long so he needs to catch up with sleep! Lesley is on her last day of her week off and will be working tomorrow night for the next 8 nights! I guess her life as Med Tech is as happy as she can be! This week would have been her days at Mercy Medical Center but glad that she has quit that hectic job and is able to relax for at least 6 days straight before getting on 8 nights again … and  …  with a good decision as she’ll be back to school again at Boise State University come June 9!

Just to add here …. at 1110pm ~ we’ve had a wonderful time eating ice cream at Baskin’ Robins this afternoon … it was a lovely day. The little ice cream parlor was full of customers! Have not had ice cream for quite a while now. We would love to go back to the same store again soon.

mee soup and satay!

with 3 comments

Lesley & I had dinner at the Thai Restaurant nearby. We’ve had Thai mee soup and Thai Satay ! This is not really the first time we’ve had chosen the same menu but a couple of times in the past. We just love the mee soup!!! Sadly there is no Malaysian restaurant in Boise so we decided to have the ‘delicious’ Thai satay which  was good to have when we have not eaten the Malaysian satay for a loooong long time now!

It was only like 8.15pm after dinner … we decided to go for a drive around downtown Boise or BoDo (http://www.downtownboise.org) Traffic wasn’t that bad after office hours so it was just perfectly nice! Will decide to walk into downtown once of these days ~ in the warm beautiful weather … there are just many places to visit but parking is just hard to come by and the parking fee is just expensive. Will need to walk quite a distance to reach places.

rendang for today

with 2 comments

Am cooking ‘rendang daging’ right now! I am using the ready-made sauce so its no big deal, just added lemongrass, ginger and sugar ~ I like it the sweeter taste! The sauce is a bit hot but I think everyone can overcome that. I can’t remember the last time I’ve cooked rendang …. it was probably last June! I love ‘rendang’ with jasmine rice once a while …. miss those stuff back in Malaysia but my rendang does taste well too!! ♥

Will be attending church service this evening ~ its a Life Teen mass ~ every Sunday evening. Will then go on for grocery shopping later, need to get a few stuff to last until my day off again next Saturday.

Have not finished looking at the Sunday paper yet … like to see the stuff on sale! I am still looking for a good shoes. Just saw one of colleague’s name who is running for office in today’s paper …. He’s been talking about it for a while. Its good to know someone who has so much interest in politics. I am actually working with him same shift for the next couple of days, will see what he has to tell about it! I wish him good luck!

I think the management of this property is getting ready to open up the swimming pool right in front of our back yard! Pools are normally or officially opened on Memorial day in this area. Should be lots of fun for the kids … sounds of splashing on water, shouts of joy, laughs etc will soon be imminent. Can be heard as windows and sliding doors are then opened up whenever I am home ….
