just another Tuesday
Nice and sunny Tuesday ….. the Weatherman says that its going to rain during the later part of the day but its not! May be tonight, its a bit windy though. It has been 49F in the last hour.
Am having a mild, annoying cough and hopefully this will go away in no time! Its my day off … Tuesday … and the day is almost gone. Am hoping too that my new glasses will be done by today and it has almost been a week of waiting! Bernard has already got his …. wonder why mine took longer??
AIG has been so greedy …. giving out big bonus bucks to their Executives and I can hear Obama giving answers to the media right at this moment on TV. Taxpayers are just not angry but demanding good answers. Things picked up at where I work lately. March has been quite busy and hopefully it will continue this way through. Saw that they have hired a new Director of Operations/Assistant General Manager beginning of March … loooong after the later left to manage another property.
Browsing the internet has been interesting …….. found the following itinerary!
BACK IN TIME … we’re considering this trip and to see how’s its done here. I guess its something that North Borneo Railway has done in the past but Themes were mostly done by Tour Operators that handles Big Incentive Groups. NBR has only provided the old train ride! Another interesting route would be the WILD WILD WEST ADVENTURE TRAIN.
Cabarton Route
Itinerary
The Cabarton Route adventure begins in the mountain community of Cascade and travels along remote stretches of the pristine Payette River, under the historic Rainbow Bridge, through a steel trestle, and through the shortes rock tunnel in the nation. At Smiths Ferry the locomotive will switch as you prepare for your trip back to Cascade.
Departure Location: Cascade at the Ashley Inn
Season: May – October
To Pocatello & Blackfoot
We drove south to Pocatello on Tuesday … it was a nice day. Had long planned this road trip, well its only 3 hours drive south on the interstate ~ an easy drive! Had to visit Idaho State University ….. always nice to re-visit! It was last May that we last made a stop to Pocatello. We did not have much time when we were there in May of last year …. Wasn’t really the city that we were so familiar with in those days, many years ago!!!! The restaurant which I did work for about 3 years was no longer there … reminiscing the old times ~ well, a new Mexican restaurant was in the same spot. Some nice shots of the trip…..

Enjoying Payette River Scenic Byway
Today is a wonderful day … this day was planned, approximately 2-hour drive one way from Boise …. Lesley and I hit the road to McCall and just wanted to drive along Idaho 55 ~ Payette River Scenic Byway ….♥♥♥♥♥
We arrive McCall, after all the photo stops along the Byway at about lunch time … we were hungry by then and headed straight to Panda Restaurant for lunch. Not bad … did not look impressive on the entrance which was on the 2nd Floor of the little complex that we’ve noticed, just across the street from the Lake Street Station. We saw a sign that says “we’re downstairs” and indeed the place was fantastic! The seating area overlooks the Payette Lake ~~~ so beautiful and spectacular in its view. Our lunch was more than delicious .. was just fantastic and we would surely come back someday! Picture 4 below is the view that we’ve enjoyed while having our lunch! This was the last picture that I’ve taken along Payette Lake, unfortunately the battery went dead ~ did not realize that I have been taking photographs all the way ~ close to nature and fell in love with it!
CLOSE TO NATURE …. http://www.byways.org/explore/byways/2037/
“The Payette River Scenic Byway meanders through foothills, mountain valleys, canyons, forests, and wide-open valleys with expansive vistas. Visit Lake Cascade, with its beauty and wildlife, and enjoy Payette Lake among the mountains and trees. Easy access to rafting, kayaking, camping, and fishing make this a trip for everyone” >>>>> so so true ….. we’ve seen while driving through!!!!
High above the Cascade ~ a beautiful sight!
Seeing the Payette, Whitewater Rafting would be more than a Grade 4 in some parts of it!
Impressed by Nature – beautiful indeed!
Having lunch overlooking Payette Lake!
Appreciating Nature!
Scenic Payette River …
Awesome view we’ve had over lunch!
getting thru the day
Had to go to a few places today …. Went to the bank, grocery store, Barnes & Noble bookstore and of course, the Mall is just nearby ~ all in one area so I do not have to drive too far apart! The weather is soooo hot today … 98F and I was just sweating out.
Bought some Chinese bun as well ~ thought that was a ‘tausa’ bun but it wasn’t! It was equally delicious and its been a long time since I had one of those. Its so bright and sunny at 7pm here and will be calling back my Mom in a while.
Trying out our very own
enjoying summer
After being so so occupied and having busy days over the July 4th weekend, here I am again! Perhaps those hot afternoons and being sleepy at times ….. well not quite but actually been working on my pictures again and too much in front of the screen actually makes me sleepy. I’d thought updating my blog would come in later after being so engrossed in updating and re-organizing my pictures. I have been going outdoors as well, out of the house in the evening …. perhaps gone for a walk or a jog along out beautiful greenbelt area. Guess what, I can’t possibly leave home without my little camera so most of the time, its snap shot time for me! After all, Idaho has all the wonders of nature. Sometimes though … takut kena too much of the sunshine as I do not need a tan for now.
doing bits on my hobby~more pics on our Sun Valley trip
Our fun trip to Sun Valley!
Our trip to Sun Valley was fantastic! We have enjoyed every minute of it … it was a fairly warm and lovely day and was just nice for a day trip! We passed through many beautiful small towns with its own unique designs and settings. Driving through the country has always inspired us as we love to go through highways instead of freeways in order to avoid congestion. We knew that most highways bring us right through country town …. As usual, have taken lots of pictures to be added to my collection!
Getting updated …..
I have the weekend off and am getting my blogs updated especially the header. I have not been blogging as efficiently as I could … well, bogged with work at times! Also have to get my favorite past time photography organized … have not done anything on those pictures for quite a while but am working on them!
another week in June
Wow its another week in June! Have not posted for a while …. Have been so busy lately, hardly had time to actually sit down and write something out of my brain. Weather has not been cooperating as well ~ it feels gloomy all of last week but has been pretty encouraging lately! Work wise ~ it has been so hectic … and tiring too … but lots of fun!
Lesley has started a short session summer class but do not actually need it after all???? Well not really sure yet as she is going to see the program coordinator today and that if she can directly take organic chemistry part 2 instead. She has indeed taken quite a number of science subjects while undertaking her medical tech degree at North Dakota State University. Idaho State University has waived her on the requirement for an organic chemistry part 1 subject towards her Pharm D program. She will save money and time if approved.
I still wanna go to the Botanical Park sometimes this week, probably during my days off …. and take more pictures of course! Did not have much time over the weekend as we were headed to the Lucky Peak Park area ~ pics coming up!
